Bestiary Expansion – TWS

Tiny lions, deep-sea fish, 2-meter-long lobsters, a damn mosasaur, and more!

Time for a massive update on the creatures of Andaril! Granted, I’ve already made many of these a while ago, but seeing as I added half a dozen more today, I figured it was only fitting to make an update here too.

(Also, the main book has made tons of progress again; yes, I rewrote the first third once again, but in my defence, it IS a lot better now!)

Behold, the new creatures!

Felines:

  • Pygmy Lion: a nocturnal, housecat-sized melanistic lion that hunts small rodents, birds, and tree-dwelling marsupials
  • Zebra Cat: a super-fast and active, striking cat with zebra stripes, kept by rich royals as pets

Fish/Aquatic:

  • Sea Tyrant: a mosasaur-like apex predator terrorizing coastal shipping routes
  • Blue Pearl Lobster: a colossal, long-lived cobalt-blue lobster that grows to two meters in size, weighing as much as two men combined
  • Rockjaw: a tanky, armored dunkleosteus-like fish the size of a sturgeon
  • Crocfish: a foul-tasting (like iron and chalk) pike-sized riverbed ambush predator that frequently bites the feet of people that pass through.
  • Red Pike: a rust-colored freshwater ambush predator specifically adapted to high-iron, tannin-rich lakes
  • Pink Glowfish: a tiny, semi-translucent deep-sea fish that drifts in massive bioluminescent schools

Insects:

  • Devilfly: a panther-sized Etherian demon dragonfly with a crocodile-tier bite force and a pressurized, explosive gas bladder. Swarms in the thousands to wipe out settlements.
  • Tyrian Queen Morph: a giant 40cm butterfly with biting mandibles for EATING flowers (instead of a proboscis). Hunted to near extinction because of its color (demonic superstition for purple)

Birds:

  • Bullet Bird: a coastal, blue kingfisher-like bird that uses air magic to blast off like a blind kamikaze bullet when a threat comes at them (their main predator is the Red Argent)
  • Messenger Raven: cracked-out ravens bred specifically for communication and intelligence, kept loyal through psychoactive kibble, feasting on carrion (translation: eats dead soldiers)
