Description
The zebra cat is a house-cat-sized feline with striking black-and-white zebra-like stripes running across its entire body. Supposedly, these patterns help it blend into its surroundings during its hunts, and even function as an anti-insect deterrent by confusing the motion-processing systems of flies, making it more difficult for them to land.
Because of the striking high-contrast stripes in its fur, royals and rich merchants pay good money to obtain these rare cats as luxury pets.
Behaviour
The zebra cat is one of the most active cats, highly playful and social, but also very temperamental. Unfortunately, because rich royals and merchants are often busy, many of these cats grow depressed when lazing around mansions. To combat this, some merchants and royals have resorted to cat-sitters, while others (with even thicker wallets) simply purchase entire litters.
The zebra cat is the fastest-running housecat, a skill they rely on to catch birds in the wild, and the occasional mouse that sneaks into their owner’s estate while captive.
Diet
The zebra cat specializes in hunting birds, but will also happily eat steppe mice and small lizards. While fish aren’t a part of their natural diet, the zebra cats absolutely LOVE fish.
