Boneborn

Footmen of Etheria, the most common demon, “skellies”

Population size: 10,000,000

Life span: 500-2,000+ years

Average threat scale: Upper Wolf

Description

The most common demon, created by the Allfather Demon in his own skeletal image. These skeletons, also known as boneborn, make up the majority of the demonic army.

Being purely skeletal, their bodies are virtually immune to most piercing and slashing damage. The magilite in their bones that animates their movements and gives them “life”, also happens to strengthen their bones quite substantially, making them almost twice as strong as regular bone.

Their strength and resistance isn’t the only thing that makes the boneborn so terrifying. Despite common misconceptions, boneborn aren’t simple mindless drones. Boneborn are fully capable of thought, improving different skills through training, formulating rudimentary plans, even being able to speak with their rattling, raspy voices.

Their bodies do not tire, they do not eat, drink, nor sleep. They are solely dedicated to one objective; training to kill.

History

Boneborn were the very first demonic race created by The Allfather. They were simple at first, mere drones with no ability to think on their own, let alone speak.

The Allfather spent years perfecting the boneborn until they were capable of speech and thought. A breakthrough allowed him to create a masterpiece, pouring years worth of energy into a single being. This being was smart, terrifyingly so, and became known in Etheria as The Guide, being the first demon to be ranked as an Upper Demon (though now considered one of the Great Three).

Other Information

The only things limiting boneborns are their lack of magical acuity, their relatively low average IQ (75), their relative weakness for blunt damage, and their significantly dulled senses.

Because of these limitations, even after hundreds of years, boneborns tend to be only somewhat more skilled than the average human soldier.

Average Height: 180cm
