Elite Warrior of the Sixth Legion, The Drake of the Sixth Legion

Description
Rune has always been an exemplary soldier, extremely determined and disciplined, following every command with every ounce of his strength, with the ultimate goal of rising up the ranks and being chosen as the next Captain of the Sixth Legion.
Rune always goes the extra mile, training until he pukes up blood or defeating a monster he was ordered to merely observe and report back on.
If Rune decides to do something, he will push himself until he succeeds, damn the costs. This determination has earned him the codename ‘Drake’ within the Sixth Legion.
What he lacks in physical power and magical potential, he makes up for in sheer spirit. He trains and trains, much harder than any of the other Elite Warriors in the Sixth Legion.
Because of the intensity of his training, his physical strength and fitness are exceptionally high, and the control he has over his water magic is among the top of the Sixth Legion (only below Hitori).
Backstory
Rune was born into a slum near the border between the Lumare and Kaligo Empires. Life was rough, food was a luxury not always afforded.
His father was killed by a bear while he was out hunting for food when Rune was just five years old. Shortly following his father’s death, Rune’s mother grew weaker and weaker, eventually growing bedridden.
By the age of seven, after Rune came back home having successfully stolen a loaf of bread, he found his mother lying in bed, cold and stiff like an icicle. His mother had succumbed to her sickness.
Following his mother passing away, Rune wandered the streets alone, stealing food so as to not starve to death.
Despite growing quite desensitized and brash from the slum life, Rune had inherited his mothers kind heart, always stepping in when he saw someone weaker getting picked on.
Over the next few years, Rune became quite adept at fighting, learning both how to take hits from the much stronger adults he was fighting and eventually, how to outmaneuver them and fight back.
By age 16, Rune was easily the best fighter in the slums, feared by the common thugs: “He just won’t give up, what’s wrong with this kid!?”.
Rune desperately wanted to escape the slum life and its hardships, but he only had one skill: kicking ass. He was constantly looking for a way out of the slums, and eventually that very opportunity came when the Kaligo army attacked his village.
He only had a rusty shortsword, and the warriors rushing in were all wearing armor, with shiny swords and freshly painted red shields. Outnumbered and outclassed by equipment, he still made the decision to attack, targeting the Kaligo officer leading the platoon. After all, if he could take down the officer, he could prove himself to the Lumare Army; surely they would then recruit him into their military?
He fought tooth and nail, taking down around a dozen trained soldiers of the Kaligo Empire, inching his way towards the officer. His sword broke, so he picked up another off the ground. He got slashed in multiple places, but he did not give up. While fighting, he awakened his water magic, using it to ultimately take down the Kaligo officer, and around a dozen remaining soldiers.
When the Lumare army platoon finally made it to the village, he was found passed out on his knees, severely injured and with the bodies of nearly three dozen Kaligo soldiers around him.
His plan worked; as the Lumare army took him in and tended to his wounds, a Captain came to check up on him. That Captain was none other than Captain Kyros, the Captain of the Sixth Legion.
Through Captain Kyros, Rune got himself admitted to the prestigious Lumare Academy, as well as side-stepping the usual process of enlisting as an Elite Warrior. He had successfully escaped the slums.
Over the next two years, Rune tried his best to improve his vocabulary, adopting a more sophisticated, humble and reserved style of speaking so as to blend in with the other high-class individuals. However, when Rune gets mad, his old, brash and ruthless personality slips out (and he will fight like a fearless monster).
As an Elite Warrior of the Sixth Legion, his quality of life has substantially increased, instantly going from the lowest tier trash the Empire tries to sweep under the rug, to the luxurious (albeit deadly) life of an Elite Warrior.
Now with more life stability, he has a new goal: he wants to become the next Captain of the Sixth Legion, to be chosen as Kyros’ successor.
