Description
The magilite bomb is a theorized massive explosive device utilizing the immense energy within magilite.
The mechanics of forcing magilite to decay are complicated by the fact that it’s actually a higher-dimensional object, not just individual particles. Magilite intersects the third dimension like the prongs of a fork, which means you would have to force the “tendrils” of magilite to decay in order to release the full pent-up energy. While detonating the tendrils is only theoretical, both Lumare and Kaligo scientists are experimenting with ways to make magilite release all its pent-up 3D energy; it’s energy flow rate.
There are two types of theorized magilite bombs, type 1 and type 2, differing a full order of magnitude in explosive yield.
Type 1 magilite bombs merely release the full, total energy within magilite in the third dimension: it dumps the maximum energy flow rate of magilite in a split second, equating to around 1kT of TNT per gram of magilite used. The resulting explosion is devastating, and shatters the crystal upon explosion, spreading magilite particles for kilometres from the detonation site.
The Type 2 magilite bomb is a theoretical doomsday device utilizing the nearly limitless TRUE magical energy in magilite by forcing the hyper-dimensional “prongs” that extend out of the particles beyond the third dimension to decay, releasing all that energy into the third dimension in a split second. The decay of this prong (one of billions; each particle/clump of magilite has their own “prong”) can release tens, to hundreds of times more energy than the Type 1 bombs, dumped straight from the higher dimensions into the 3D detonation site. If such a bomb were ever produced, it is thought that it would be capable of wiping an entire nation off the map.
Mechanics
Even the mechanics of a Type 1 magilite bomb are still up for debate, as nobody has figured out how to release the full energy within magilite without the intervention of human imagination and their magilite pathways.
That is why flarestone, a much cheaper and more volatile material, is used for conventional explosives.
Use
Magilite bombs would theoretically be used to erase cities, entire nations, or perhaps even the entire world as a final doomsday device.
