Description
The older twin, Kaligo is Lumare’s brother. Just like his twin bother, Kaligo is a prodigy in magic; wielding blazing fire magic, legendary for its heat and intensity.
Unlike his brother, Kaligo has a short temper, and tends to snap at people who disrespect him. He shows no mercy to his enemies and does not hesitate destroying anyone in his way.
Kaligo has a deep desire to be the best, always competing with his brother. Once he became emperor, this desire came out in the form of authoritarian rule and a hunger for power.
His brother continued outshining him, with his magic, with the prosperity of his empire, with everything. Having been outshined his whole life, Kaligo grew more and more bitter with age.
Backstory
Childhood
Just like Lumare, Kaligo was born with an immense magical potential.
When they were just ten years old, Lumare first awakened his magical potential. Being highly competitive, Kaligo worked his ass off to awaken his magic just a few months later.
While both awakened their magic, because Lumare was the first to re-introduce magic into the world, he was in the spotlight.
Chaos Times
During the Chaos Times, Kaligo and his brother protected the world from the demonic forces, driving them away from the mortal plane. Ultimately closing the gates to Etheria with the help of Eira Everfrost and the Stone of Destruction.
After defeating the demons and exterminating the rest of them from the world, both Lumare and Kaligo founded their own empires in the same year. Kaligo’s empire came to be known as The Fire Empire.
The New Empire
As the emperor, Kaligo constantly compared himself to his brother and his empire. Just as his brother taught his people to use water magic, Kaligo taught his people fire magic.
Despite doing everything his brother was doing, his brother’s empire thrived, while his own staggered. This led to the brothers drifting further and further apart, until Kaligo hit a breaking point.
War
Kaligo grew more and more frustrated, eventually resulting in a war against his brother’s empire. Kaligo wanted to show himself and the world that he was better.
During the first years of the war, Lumare was holding back, trying to negotiate with Kaligo. This infuriated Kaligo, and he wanted his brother to go all out, so that he could beat him and show the world that he was stronger.
In order to provoke his brother, Kaligo murdered his brother’s wife. It worked, but Kaligo never expected the torrential fury that his brother was capable of.
Desperately trying to win using any means available, Kaligo recruited hundreds of thousands of levy recruits, enlisting anyone he could.
Nothing that Kaligo did had any impact, Lumare destroyed everything and everyone with relentless fury, eventually facing his brother.
Kaligo had deeply underestimated his brother’s strength, and while they faced off against each other, going all out, he was killed.
The Fire Empire, now decimated, took it as their mission to get revenge for Kaligo’s death.
The Fire Empire rebranded themselves as The Kaligo Empire, and formed a cult-like religious group called The Flame of Revenge, with the sole purpose to get revenge for what Lumare and his empire had done.
