Fledgeling

The flying chihuahua’s of Etheria, “fledgies”

Average threat scale: Upper Boar

Description

Fledgelings are flying, dragon-like demons about the size of a large cat. They look like small, flying gremlins, with characteristics of both cats and a dragons.

Fledgelings have very sharp claws that they use to latch onto smaller prey. These claws can be quite nasty on the receiving end, and can even cut through basic leather armor. On top of their claws, Fledgelings have dragon-like wings as well as a highly keen eyesight and hearing, both tools they use to hunt for their prey.

Being bitten by a fledgeling is far more dangerous than being cut by its claws, as fledgeling saliva is packed full of bacteria and anti-clot enzymes, likely leading to either death by blood loss or infection.

Alone, fledgelings aren’t much of a threat for a trained soldier, but as a whole pack (10-50 individuals), they can quickly overwhelm even the most trained individuals.

Behavior

Fledgelings are known for their chihuahua-like attitudes, attacking their prey relentlessly while screeching like bloody murder.

Diet

Fledgelings eat mostly small, mouse-like critters in the caverns of Etheria.

Other Information

Fledgelings lack the capacity for complex reasoning and speech, taking on a more rudimentary animal-like behavior.

Fledgelings were originally created by the Allfather Demon as pets, but later they also took up the purpose of fast-paced shock-troops.

Fledgelings were particularly nasty during the Chaos Times, as they were widely used to attack anybody on sight; soldiers, civilians, and even children.
