Their magical potential has been shown to be even higher than that of the royals’, but the reason is an utter mystery.

History

Potential spoilers

The Ardoladd family has its roots in the first people, in the abscondita, and ultimately, in a single outlier within them.

The first person who can be viewed as an Ardoladd is none other than The Allfather Demon, then known as Yami Murasaki. He was an abscondita born with an abnormally large magical potential, and lacking the snow-white hair that characterized his race.

Before he was about to be executed by his people, before he stole the Stone of Destruction and massacred his race, Yami had a child with a woman named Ava Ardoladd.

This child went on to have a child with a human, his child doing the same, establishing the lineage of the Ardoladd family.

Potential spoilers

During the Chaos Times, a certain girl from the Ardoladd family made contact with the demons of Etheria. Through them, she made contact with her ancestor, The Allfather Demon, and decided to join him then and there.

She was brought to Etheria and gained vast amounts of power, earning her right to be called an Upper Demon. She is the only demon that The Allfather doesn’t hate, and instead regards as his only daughter. This is of course, none other than Lune herself.

The Ardoladd family has been a family of warriors since ancient times, displaying great feats of strength and magic, that comparable and superseding even the royals.

The Ardoladd family stood strong for thousands of years, but has steadily declined over the last few hundred years, reaching a cusp when nearly all members were assassinated by the Knights of Lumare, excluding Kouga and Kiryu Ardoladd.
