Description

The yellow-streaked bass is one of the most common species of fish in the freshwater lakes and rivers of the world. They are characterized by their vibrantly yellow pattern, particularly the yellow streaks going across their body, as well as their vibrant golden-yellow fins.

They can grow quite large, larger specimens weighing over ten kilos. Usually however, yellow-streaked bass weigh in around one to four kilos.

Behaviour

As they are predatory, they spend a large amount of time swimming around, looking for smaller prey, even eating their own young.

Diet

These fish eat mostly smaller fish, with the occasional crustacean here and there.
