Description
An orc species that lives in the swamps and feasts on maggot-ridden rotting flesh. Rot orcs earned their name from the pungent smell that emanates from their bodies and nests.
Because of their adaptation to eat rotting flesh, their bodies have evolved to be immune to infections of all kinds, which turns out to be an excellent adaptation when you’re constantly at war.
Behaviour
Rot orcs are cunning hunters, hunting hoards of fish and other animals before hoarding their corpses in so called rot chambers, where the corpses are left to rot.
Other than hunting, rot orcs have a rudimentary culture of survival, where the weak are killed off and eaten for the greater survival of the species.
Rot orcs have steady conflicts against the swamp orcs that inhabit the same environments. While rot orcs are a lot weaker physically than the swamp orcs, rot orcs have numbers (and a steady food source) on their side.
Rot orcs keep swamp beasts as guard dogs, who watch for potential swamp orc attacks.
Diet
Rot orcs are adapted to eating rotting flesh, be it fish or their fallen comrades. Because of this trait, and the continuous supply of bodies from their conflicts against swamp orcs, rot orcs’ numbers have been steadily rising.
Misc
Some individuals, so called brutes, can grow to a size of over 2m tall, ranking at Troll on the threat scale.
