Description
The bullets of the ocean, argents are among the fastest marine animals on the planet, reaching speeds near 90 km/h (around 25m/s).
Red argents are known for their beautiful silvery sheen and red colored fins. While many royals have tried to keep these fish in captivity because of their beauty, they have all died within a month of capture.
Behaviour
Red Argents swim anywhere around a hundred meters- below the surface, up to two kilometers deep.
Because argents mate deep in the ocean, they’ve adapted their silvery sheen to better be able to find mates within the barely visible deep sea.
Argents are highly energetic, which is why it is best to avoid them if you don’t know what you’re doing, lest you be bitten.
Diet
Argents eat a varied diet of fish, crustaceans, and squid.
