Description
Nero is a prolific leader and famous monster-hunter, occasionally contracted by the Lumare Empire to take down threats that the Captains don’t have time for, or can’t afford to take down.
He is the leader of the Order of the Black Rose, an organization of contract warriors, assassins, and monster hunters.
While he hasn’t awakened his magic, Nero is exceptionally skilled in martial arts and swordsmanship. His expertise is fighting against larger foes, i.e. any types of monsters.
Nero is famous for his monster trophies, often being seen carrying troll heads around major cities.
He is very strong and agile, and has an incredible ability of combat premonition, frequently predicting and outmaneuvering his opponents.
Like the Order itself, Nero is highly serious about his work, taking almost no time off and always doing everything by the book.
Backstory
At the age of ten, Nero watched his whole family be massacred by a group of raiding goblins. Watching his own sister be ripped apart was especially traumatic, and solidified his hatred for all monsters alike.
He fought, using a simple huntsman’s knife, driving back the goblins, but it was too late. Half his village had already been killed by then, and he had no relatives, no home to speak of.
Over the coming years, he spent almost every waking hour hunting monsters, becoming quite skilled at it in the process. He was so good in fact, that he quickly started getting paid for it.
He eventually wound up in the wrong group, the then fully assassin-oriented Order of the Black Rose. With them, he took a few odd jobs as a hired assassin, being contracted to take out corrupt politicians and royals. He figured these people were as good as monsters, and the pay was good.
During this period, he picked up the habit of placing corpse roses in his victim’s houses; a common message among assassin’s serving as a death sentence.
He rose the ranks through the years, all the way to the top of the organization. Once at the top, he made a few changes within the organization. He cleaned up most of the illegal business and expanded the organization’s branches into the contract warrior and monster hunting work.
As the leader of the Order of the Black Rose, he has become quite famous as a prolific monster hunter. While the Lumare Empire doesn’t condone a lot of what he has done, and still does, they still ask him for favors and let him and his organization work, as long as they don’t threaten the citizens of the Empire.

He wears his signature blackened adamantite-steel armor and wields a large, two-handed adamantite-steel sword called Trollbreaker.
Misc information
Because of his obsession with monster hunting, Nero barely sleeps more than four or five hours per day.
Nero is always dressed in black, be it casual black clothing or his blackened armor, the dark attire and his serious attitude make him highly intimidating. Combined with his aura of vengeance, people rarely have the confidence to approach him.
