Nautian

A secluded race of fully aquatic humanoids, dominating the deep oceans of the world.

Population size: 550,000

Life span: 85

Average threat scale: Upper Wolf

Description

Nautians are a rare humanoid species with dark blue skin and glowing yellow eyes. Their skin is scaly and sleek, and they live in symbiosis with various ocean creatures, from corals to sharks and even whales.

The nautians worship the great ancient dragon of the sea, otherwise known as the Blue Dragon of the South, which is said to reside somewhere in the deepest parts of The Great Ocean.

Nautians strangely lack webbed hands, but their feet do have webbing, enabling them to swim more easily. What really improves their mobility is their inherent use of water magic to propel themselves through the ocean. Like humans learn to walk and run, nautians learn to propel themselves with water magic.

History

Little is known about the race of nautians. Most information about them is solely from legends, the eyewitness accounts of sailors, and the extremely rare body that washes ashore.

Some seafarers swear they’ve seen glimpses of these dark-blue skinned people, riding various aquatic creatures.

Other Information

Nautian children are known to keep various fish as pets in the same way that humans keep cats and dogs.
