Death moth, disaster moth
Description
An elegant and elusive coal-black moth, thought to prophesize great disasters.
The population of midnight moth were said to be booming four-hundred years ago, right before the Chaos Times, in year 5 B.L.T.
The same phenomenon happened again in the year 9 L.T. right before Kaligo declared war on the Lumare Empire, signaling the beginning of the Lumare-Kaligo war, which has killed millions and millions of people over the past four hundred years.
Because of its ties to such great disasters, seeing a midnight moth is viewed as an extremely bad omen, signaling imminent death and disaster. The moth is even called the death moth or disaster moth by some.
Behaviour
The behaviour and mating schedules of the midnight moth are still extremely poorly understood, specimens rarely ever being found.
Diet
While the moth surely eats flower sap; because of its rare nature, records of the midnight moth’s favourite flowers have gone missing along the years.
