While not as effective at reflecting magic (75% compared to albium’s 95%), melanite boasts an impressive hardness, being nearly ten-times stronger than adamantite.

While melanite is stronger than albium physically, it’s also twenty times heavier, weighing a whopping 50kg per bar.
Misc information
The Allfather Demon has bones made out of melanite, and many of his upper demons have weapons made of the stuff.
