Description
The Ironwood tree is widely regarded as one of the most sought after building materials for its strength and fire-resistant properties.
The fact that it only grows in the dangerous Lost Forest, which is infested with giants, trolls, and goblins alike, make ironwood an extremely expensive resource. A single five-meter-long ironwood plank costs nearly ten times the amount that a similar plank from regular wood types costs.
Properties
Ironwood is extremely strong both in terms of structural integrity and resistance to various forms of damage because of the presence of metals in its cell-structure. These metals are absorbed directly from the metal-rich soil of the Lost Forest.
The presence of metal in ironwood also grants it an impressive resistance to fire, which is an invaluable property to both the Lumare and Kaligo empires.
