Forest Goblin

Threat Scale: Lower Wolf

Description

Goblins, much like chihuahuas, have a reputation for being snappy and easily provoked. They are highly territorial and aggressive by nature, and often form large nests, which makes them a highly dangerous pest.

Because they spend most of their time in the dark caverns and holes of their nests inside the ground, they’ve evolved excellent hearing, but not the best eyesight.

The warrior and hunter goblins which wander the forests and raid local villages tend to carry rudimentary stone weapons, but some have even been observed with metal weaponry, likely scavenged from some unfortunate adventurers.

Behaviour

Goblins form large nests, where they breed, horde food, and hide from humans. They come out to hunt for animals and to raid local villages, which makes them a dangerous pest that humanity actively tries to eradicate.

Goblins are capable of a more advanced proto speech, organizing in tribal-like groups of 50-10,000 individuals.

Goblins also have a rudimentary grasp of technology, as well as an animistic religion and culture, worshipping a magical goblin-like entity known as the Forest Spirit – Guardian of the Forest.

Groups of goblins also frequently raid caravans and smaller villages to steal their supplies, weapons, and food.

Despite the multitude of attempts to eradicate goblins from the world, their extremely fast reproductive cycles keep their populations up.

Diet

Goblins are both scavengers and prolific hunters, feeding on small game and the fruits of the forest. Goblins also love human food, and will go to great lengths to steal it.
