Flarestone Torch

Self-powered, high-efficiency, handheld flarestone lights.

Description

Flarestone torches are magimechanical handheld devices that light up a wide area using the same mechanics as flarestone lights.

Unlike regular wooden torches that burn for around an hour, flarestone torches can last up to a week powered on. The drawback is their price, costing as much as a house.

Mechanics

Flarestone torches are self-powered, meaning they have a small IF battery that powers the flarestone filament light at the end of the torch.

As they have a significant amount of flarestone in them, they are quite volatile and sensitive, and may explode if handled incorrectly or damaged.

As with flarestone lights, the flarestone torches color is determined by the element of magic infused into the IF battery.

Use

Flarestone torches are used by rich miners and cave dwellers, or when it’s absolutely crucial that there is light somewhere underground.

Misc

Sometimes, flarestone torches are used as DIY flarestone bombs; because of their high amount of flarestone, they are as powerful as 75g flarestone bombs.
