Autumn Drake

Description
Because Atumna drakes have two wings and two rear legs, they are taxonomically a type of wyvern; nevertheless, the name ‘Atumna drake’ has stuck around.
Atumna drakes are the most common dragonkin in the world, lacking any magical abilities but making up for it with an incredibly fast reproductive cycle (yearly from age 5) and incubation period (winter->spring, 7 months).
Atumna drakes are known for their ferocity and determination; they will not stop hunting their prey, even if their life is in danger. Because of this extreme determination, the saying, “Determined like a drake”, has become a common phrase.
Behaviour
Atumna drakes, also known as autumn drakes, hibernate during the winter, waking up during late spring / early summer for their mating period. During their mating period, male drakes compete to find the biggest prey they can; the bigger the prey, the more viable they show themselves to be to potential mates.
The only thing above them on the food chain are the greater black drakes, whom atumna drakes try their best to avoid, even relocating their territory to avoid confronting them.
Diet
Atumna drakes regularly prey on alba sheep, but will hunt whatever they can find in the mountains, particularly liking the taste of mountain orcs and humans, as well as any domesticated cattle and sheep, to the dismay of any farmer.
Misc
The atumna drakes’ populations are tightly controlled by the royals of both empires, as they are a highly dangerous pest. To kill two birds with one stone, hunting atumna drakes has been made part of the training for Lumare Empire Elite Squads.
The eggs of an atumna drake are highly valuable, fetching around 5 GLU (5,000€) even for a dead/unfertilized one, with fertilized eggs easily racking up over 10-25 GLU (10,000-25,000€)
